Any place that names a sandwich after John Sav gets 4 stars. Throwback to the early 90s and the for real locals can still seen here. It's not about the food it's about the place.

I was...underwhelmed.
The shop breaks up ordering by section, but if you try to mix and match what you get (say a bagel AND a beverage) then you have to wait in two different lines to order each item. And then you have to go to yet another line to wait to cash out. If there were steady coverage of each of the stations, maybe it could work but it was hard tracking people down for each counter to order.
The bagel was basic, the iced tea was literally boiled tea bags then poured over ice. This, of course, melted immediately and made it so that I was essentially drinking a water with a random tea bag inside of it.
Inside is also just plain grimy. I'm sure it can be described as quaint and a local joint but it was definitely not a place I would recommend to others.
Also - bring cash. -

Being one block from the beach, the best part of this place is it's location.
Back in the day (mid 1990s) the place was called JB's Bagel and it was over in North Hampton. Back then, a bagel / coffee shop was new and cool. The original owner moved the shop to the beach thinking it would be cooler if closer to the beach but I believe it backfired.
Now, about 18 years later they have new owners and a new name but otherwise they haven't done much evolving.
Be sure to bring cash, they don't take cards. Sure they have an ATM but that means you're paying them a fee to buy their stuff. The coffee is decent but nothing special. They don't make their own bagels so don't expect a from scratch taste. Beware of peak hours. Between the poor layout and carefree tourist customers, getting a bagel in the summer can get downright frustrating.
Technically, surfers still go there and at first glance you'd think it's a cool surfer hangout but don't be fooled. Nowadays, mostly chatty rumor mill locals with nothing to do hold up the tables all morning.
I still go for the occasional coffee and bagel but only because of the location. If I see a swarm of tourists, I stay far away.
I would recommend to the owners the following;
- Redesign the layout, it's madness in there.
- Consider some better bagels. Call me crazy, but a bagel shop should have better bagels then the ones you can buy at the supermarket.
- Up your coffee game. No espresso based drinks? Maybe coffee iced cubes for the iced coffee? Maybe get rid of the 1980s style styrofoam cups???
- Accept CCs, cmon guys, we all love cash but it's 2018. Shady flea market dealers take only cash, are you being shady? -

Located close to the beach house we are currently staying at for a week. It's always best to come here early, maybe around when they open, as it can get very crowded sometimes.
Oddly enough, I tried to get a cold brew in a large cup, but they told me the maximum size for a cold brew was a medium, but that was ok with me. It tasted pretty good. I think I'll try a mocha the next time I come here. I heard they're pretty good too. -

I love this place so much. Tucked away on Kings Highway, a street behind Ocean Blvd, this is a local's favorite. They offer bagels, egg sandwiches, lunch wraps, coffee, pastries, smoothies and ice cream in the summer. I am completely obsessed with their new addition, "The Townie Plate", which is a plate of scrambled eggs topped with tomatoes, red onion, guacamole, jalapeños and choice of meat. I also love the mudslide ice coffees. If you like bagels you will love Kbs. I love the many options for spread, including a variety of house made cream cheeses, cinnamon sugar, almond butter, and hummus. They even have pizza bagels! In the summer we love taking our breakfast for a short walk up the street to sit on the wall and look at the waves. Great spot!
